Dutch National Ballet presents
In 2019 NDT celebrates its sixtieth anniversary with an extraordinary anniversary programme that is unique in the company's existence.
Season 2019-2020 opens with the anniversary programme Kunstkamer by Nederlands Dans Theater 1&2 in which the company presents a unique collaboration to celebrate sixty years of NDT! House choreographers Sol León and Paul Lightfoot and both associate choreographers to the company, Crystal Pite and Marco Goecke, will create a full-evening programme together in which all dancers perform on stage simultaneously.
Kunstkamer is an extraordinary tribute to the dreams and the trajectory of the company within the art of dance for the past six decades. Inspired by Albertus Seba’s The Cabinet of Natural Curiosities (1734), the choreographers will use the idea of the stage to be their own Kunstkamer that presents NDT as its own multifaceted ‘Company of Curiosities’.
Kunstkamer is a unique project where the four choreographers enter into an intensive collaboration and interweave their different dance idioms into one evening, accompanied live by Het Balletorkest. After its Dutch premiere, this exceptional programme will travel to London, Madrid, Paris, Berlin and Baden-Baden.
