Lotte de Beer
LOTTE DE BEER (director) studied directing at the Amsterdam University of the Art and is one of the most sought-after directors of her generation. She received the Ton Lutz Award for most talented director and won the International Opera Award in the ‘Newcomer’ category in 2015. The Dutch director has guested with Theater an der Wien, the Münchener Biennale, the Holland Festival, the Neuköllner Oper, Opera Leipzig, the Aalto Musiktheater Essen and the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. Lotte de Beer is the artistic director of Operafront. The company aims to present contemporary opera productions in order to reach new audiences. In collaboration with the MET New York, she is working on MET2GO, a project in which small-scale opera is produced at unusual locations. Recent productions include: Rusalka (Aalto-Musiktheater Essen), Les pecheurs de perles (Theater an der Wien and Israeli opera), La Traviata (Theater an der Wien). Future productions include: Mose in Egitto (Bregenzer Festpiele) and Il Trittico (Bayerische Staatsoper).
