Anna Tsygankova

Before Anna Tsygankova (Novosibirsk, Russia) came to the Netherlands in 2007, she had already had an impressive career as a principal: she danced with the famous Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, the Hungarian National Ballet and the Ballett der Wiener Staatsoper. Anna trained at the ballet academy in Novosibirsk and the Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo.

Anna is in great demand as a soloist at foreign dance galas and has won a large number of prizes. In 2008, a year after joining the Dutch National Ballet, she received the Alexandra Radius Prize. In 2011, she was nominated for the Swan for 'Most Impressive Dance Performance' for her role as Kitri in Don Quichot, and in 2016 she received this prize for her performance of the title role in Ted Brandsen's Mata Hari. In 2014 she was awarded the Grand Prix of the Dance Open Festival in St. Petersburg and in 2016 she was named Mrs. Expressivity at the same festival. In 2017 Anna was also named 'Best dancer of the year' by dance magazine Dance Europe and received the Award of Merit from Stichting Dansersfonds '79.
