Olaf Winter

Lighting designer

After training as a lighting designer in New York, Olaf Winter worked at Ballett Frankfurt (at the time under the direction of the renowned choreographer William Forsythe), and in 2002 he became technical director of Oper Frankfurt. In 2009, the Schauspiel Frankfurt also became part of his directorship. As a freelancer, he has created numerous lighting designs for companies such as the Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the Opéra national de Paris. At Dutch National Opera, he has previously designed the lighting for Un Ballo in Maschera and Don Giovanni, both directed by Claus Guth, Le Nozze di Figaro by David Bösch and La Forza del Destino in a production by Christof Loy.
