MAURIZIO BENINI (musical director) has been principal conductor with Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Wexford Festival Opera and Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile and a regular guest conductor with Teatro di San Carlo in Napels.

The Italian conductor made his debut at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, where he specialised in bel canto and the Verdi repertoire. He is a regular guest at the opera houses of Paris, Vienna, London, Barcelona, Madrid, New York, Chicago, Toulouse, Monte Carlo, Munich, Seville and Venice. Maurizio Benini has also conducted at festivals in Edinburgh and Glyndebourne, and at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro. In 2012, leading Spanish critics voted him conductor of the year for his performance of Adriana Lecouvreur in Barcelona.
