Michaela DePrince is one of the stars in the new video Lemonade by Beyoncé. She is dancing and appearing in several scenes with Beyoncé and on her own. Besides Michaela, the storyline also includes tennis star Serena Williams, model Winnie Harlow, actresses Quvenzhané Wallis and Amandla Stenberg, and pop duo Lisa-Kaindé Diaz and Naomi Diaz, known as Ibeyi. Also featuring in the video are Lezley McSpadden, Gwendolyn Carr and Sybrina Fulton, mothers of children who were killed in acts of police brutality in the United States. The video of Michaela was recorded by Khalil Joseph last December at two former plantations, Destrehan and Madewood, in Louisiana, the United States. The video portrays a secret society of strong, proud women: The Secret Society Women.

‘It was absolutely a once in a lifetime experience to work with Beyoncé. She’s probably one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. I believe that this project will truly make an impact on how all lives matter, no matter what color you are. I was truly on cloud nine the whole time I was there and when I got back. Before I go on stage I always listen to Grown Women and also to I Was Here. I Was Here is a really special song because it inspires me to continue to make an impact just like how this video will make an impact on the world.’ - Michaela DePrince

Lemonade was premiered on Saturday evening on the HBO television broadcasting station. It features tracks from the new, sixth studio album by Beyoncé.
