PRINCIPAL DANCER ARTUR SHESTERIKOV WINS RADIUS PRIZE
Artur Shesterikov was presented with the prize – 2500 Euros and an artwork – by former prima ballerina Alexandra Radius at the Gala on 7 September. According to the jury, Artur Shesterikov is ‘both a danseur noble and one of the cornerstones of Dutch National Ballet – a likeable and modest person’.
The Russian dancer, who has been dancing with the Netherlands’ biggest ballet company since 2007, was made a soloist in 2010 and a principal in 2012. Although he dances mainly classical roles, he has also performed in work by choreographers such as George Balanchine, William Forsythe and Benjamin Millepied.
