Open call Choreographic Academy 4-21 June 2019

Dutch National Ballet is offering a talented young choreographer a series of creation sessions with the dancers of the Junior Company, enabling him or her to do choreographic research for a future work.
Next to studio time the choreographer will be offered the support of ballet master Caroline Sayo Iura and dance dramaturge Peggy Olislaegers. A sharing with a selected audience will be part of the research and creation process.
Additional working sessions on communication and marketing, next to a series of conversations on leadership will be provided as well. Dutch National Ballet will also take care of your staying in Amsterdam.

Background
Dutch National Ballet invests in the future of ballet, supporting the next generation of choreographers. The 12 highly talented ballet dancers of the Junior Company are looking forward to work with you. During the Choreographic Academy you will share studio time with two other choreographers.

Applications
This call is open to up and coming choreographers of all dance backgrounds. Applications should include your curriculum vitae, videos of two choreographies you presented in a professional context, and a personal statement in which you describe the physical and artistic research you would like to effect. Please articulate how you would like to make use of the technique and the heritage of ballet, and how you would like to collaborate with the dancers of the Junior Company.
