Michiel Borstlap

Michiel Borstlap is pianist, composer and pioneer of a new generation of jazz. The generation that thinks less in the box, such as Erik Vloeimans and Benjamin Herman. Since his cum laude graduation in 1992 he has made considerable progress. He was the first Dutchman to win a prestigious American jazz prize, the Thelonious Monk Award. He composed the first Arabic opera, made music with Ludovico Einaudi and Gino Vannelli and received a Gouden Kalf for the film music of Tiramisu.
