Beatriz Kuperus (1st year), was born in Boulder, Colorado and started doing competitive jazz when she was 6. At age 10, she was casted for the role of young Clara in the Boulder Ballet production of The Nutcracker. It was then that she discovered her passion for classical ballet. After five years of rigorous Vaganova training with Mme Elizabeth Shipiatsky, she performed the role of Masha in The Russian Nutcracker, with Classical Ballet of Colorado. At age 15, she won First Place Senior Classical Division at the YAGP, semifinals in Denver. She was awarded a scholarship to continue her training at English National Ballet School, where she has had various performance opportunities, including touring England as Odile in the My First Swan Lake production, and performing with English National Ballet. She was a Finalist in the 2019 Prix de Lausanne. For Beatriz, being part of The Dutch National Junior Company is a dream come true!
