Emmanuelle Haïm

After studying piano, harpsichord and organ, Emmanuelle Haïm chose orchestra conducting and founded Le Concert d'Astrée in 2000. With this orchestra, she performs on the major international stages in works devoted to the music of the 17th and 18th centuries alongside prodigious artists such as Cecilia Bartoli, Natalie Dessay, Philippe Jaroussky,  Patricia Petibon, Sandrine Piau, Rolando Villazon, en Anne Sofie von Otter. In collaboration with renowned directors such as Mariame Clément, Jean Bellorini, Robert Wilson, Jean-François SIvadier, Krzysztof Warlikovsky and Guy Cassiers, Haïm has distinguished herself in numerous stage productions at the Lille Opera, the Berlin Staatsoper, the Dijon Opera, at Opéra national de Paris, the Théâtre de Caen, the Festival International d'Art Lyrique d'Aix-en-Provence and the Glyndebourne Festival. Moreover, Haïm has longstanding collaborations with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Swedish Radio Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra,  London Symphony Orchestra and with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Giulio Cesare will be her debut at Dutch National Opera with her own orchestra Le Concert d’Astrée.
