Patrick Votrian
Tubaist Patrick Votrian has had the pleasure of working with John Cage, Olivier Messiaen, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Leonard Bernstein, Charlie Haden and Joan La Barbara. He was chosen for the American premiere of Vinko Globokar's Introspection d'un Tubiste. Nowadays he works mainly with the performance/composer collective K.O.Brass! (nominated for an Edison in 2021, for their CD KEYO), with whom he performed in theatre productions with Orkater (Julius Caesar) and Leo Blokhuis/Ricky Koole (New Orleans) and worked together with Typhoon (most recently in the television programme Matthijs Gaat Door), Blaudzun and Wende. Since 2001, he has been a member of the punk brass band De Kift (winner of the Silver Harp). They recently featured in the documentary Water Cradle Me (2019) by Sanne Rovers (maker of the documentary Crazy Days). Noteworthy was his participation in ODD Continent's first multidisciplinary production Homebody in collaboration with Dutch National Ballet (choreographer Remi Wörtmeyer and soloists), Noord Nederlands Toneel (Monic Hendrickx) and Kytopia (composers Colin Benders and Kobi Arditi). He was previously a member of the Kyteman Orchestra.
