Paulien Cornelisse is a writer, comedian, columnist and television presenter. Her first theatre show Dagbraken premiered in 2008, for which she received the 'Neerlands Hoop' award. The shows Hallo Aarde (2010), Maar Ondertussen (2013), Om mij moverende redenen (2017) and Aanstalten (2021) followed. With her keen sense of language and humour, she wrote the books Taal is zeg echt mijn ding (2009), En dan nog iets (2012), the novel De verwarde cavia (2016), Taal voor de leuk (2018) and Japan in honderd kleine stukjes (2020). She also presented two seasons of the travel programme Tokidoki about Japan for VPRO. In addition, she is a regular columnist for newspaper de Volkskrant.
