Wendall K. Harrington
Wendall Keehn Harrington (Queens, New York) studied art history and began her career as a filmmaker before focusing on stage projections in 1978. In the United States, Harrington has been regarded as the foremost projection designer for over three decades and is often referred to as “The Queen of Projections.” She has designed projections for more than a hundred musicals (including the award-winning The Who’s Tommy), operas (including Werther at The Metropolitan Opera), concerts (including The Talking Heads’ tour Stop Making Sense and Simon & Garfunkel’s Old Friends tour), and ballets (including Lar Lubovitch’s Othello). Harrington has also collaborated with Alexei Ratmansky on his productions of Anna Karenina, Cinderella, On the Dnieper, OPERA!, Pictures at an Exhibition, and Firebird.
In addition to her work as a projection designer, Harrington has been the head of Projection Design at the Yale School of Drama since 2008 and works as a photo editor for various magazines.
