An D’Huys
An D'Huys studied at the St-Lukas Institute Brussels and fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Since 2002, she regularly works with Ivo van Hove on his theatre and opera productions. D'Huys designed the costumes for Van Hove's Les Damnés (Festival d'Avignon and Comédie-Française, 2016), La clemenza di Tito (La Monnaie, 2013), The Fountainhead (Festival d'Avignon, 2014) and A view from the bridge (Young Vic, 2014 and Odéon Théâtre de l'Europe, 2015). She was also responsible for the costume designs of his productions of David Bowie's Lazarus and West Side Story on Broadway. In early 2024, she will work with him on his staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar. Furthermore, D'Huys was responsible for the costume design of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker’s Così fan tutte at Opéra national de Paris and The Six Brandenburg Concertos. However, her work is not limited to the performing arts: D'Huys also designed for films by Jaco Van Dormael and Patrice Toye, among others, and was part of Ann Demeulemeester's design team for 11 years. At Dutch National Opera, she previously created the costumes for Der Schatzgräber (2012) and Salome (2017).
An D’Huys designed the costumes for Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny, which will be performed at Dutch National Opera from 6 September to 27 September 2023.
