Love, infidelity, betrayal, jealousy and murder are the ingredients that make up the famous Italian opera dyptich Pagliacci / Cavalleria rusticana. In September 2019, Lorenzo Viotti, who will hold the position of chief conductor of Dutch National Opera and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra from the beginning of the 2021/2022 season, made his debut at DNO with this production.
