Ayman Harper is a stager, choreographer, and educator committed to the performing and visual arts community. Born in Houston, Texas, Harper received his education at High School for the Performing & Visual Arts, The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, and The Houston Ballet Academy. As a former dancer and choreographer for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT 2), Ballett Frankfurt, and The Forsythe Company, he has collaborated with and performed works by some of his field’s most influential artists. In the past 25 years, he has performed in over 20 countries and taught at companies and universities across five continents.

Beyond the scope of dance, his tapping has been featured on the musical track You from the album The Marriage of True Minds by the electronic music duo Matmos. Harper also collaborated with other artists to direct and create a parade for Paris’ Nuit Blanche Festival and has been commissioned to create an installation at the Saturn V rocket in front of Johnson Space Center’s Houston.
