Carlos Soto is a designer and creative director, based in New York City. Since 1997 he has collaborated closely with Robert Wilson. They most recently worked together on Bach 6 Solo, Der Messias and I was sitting on my patio this guy appeared

I thought I was hallucinating
. With Solange Knowles he worked on Passage for International Woolmark Prize 2021, In Past Pupils and Smiles for the Venice Biennale, her film and concert tour When I Get Home, and Witness! for Elbphilharmonie Hamburg & Sydney Opera House, which premiered in season 2019/20. Together with Zack Winokur he worked on Tristan und Isolde for Santa Fe Opera, with Justin Vivian Bond and Anthony Roth Costanzo on Only An Octave Apart for St. Ann’s Warehouse, Wilton’s Music Hall and with Davóne Tines on The Black Clown for ART, Lincoln Center. He was also responsible for the costumes and scenography of Wagner’s Die Walküre, directed by Yuval Sharon for Detroit Opera.
