Chiharu Shiota

The Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota lives and works in Berlin. In her work, she explores themes such as life, death and relationships, mainly in large installations. She has had solo exhibitions in cities including Tokyo, Berlin, Shanghai and Washington, and her work has been exhibited at the Oku-Noto triennial and the biennials of Sydney and Venice. She has designed sets for Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, Staatsoper Berlin and Theater Kiel, among others.
