Dominic Kraemer
Dominic caught the opera bug early, performing the role of Flavio in Handel's Rodelinda at the age of 7 and decided from then on that he wanted to be an opera singer. As a treble, he performed various roles at English National Opera and the Royal Albert Hall and has the obscure claim-to-fame of singing the role of Miles in the 'Siberian Premiere' of Britten's The Turn of the Screw. His teenage years were busy with lots of viola playing, but he came back to singing when he was accepted as a choral scholar in the choir of St John's College at Cambridge University, singing seven services a week whilst studying for his Bachelors. He went on to complete his Masters at the Royal Academy of Music and then ended up in Amsterdam at the Dutch National Opera Academy.
When Dominic isn't singing with the choir of the Dutch National Opera, he is busy performing contemporary opera which has become his speciality in recent years. Recently he has performed roles in new operas at the Staatsoper Berlin (Usher), the Münchener Biennale (Alles Klappt) and at Dutch National Opera (Ritratto, The New Prince, Trouble in Tahiti).
