Fang Fang Kong
Fang Fang studied at the Royal Conservatoire in Beijing and continued her studies in the opera class of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. By now, she has lived in the Netherlands, together with her husband and daughters, for longer than she has lived in her native China. Although she still goes back to her parents in Beijing a couple of times a year, she really feels at home in the Netherlands.
Fang Fang has been a soprano with the Chorus of Dutch National Opera since 1993. She has appeared in DNO productions such as FAUST [working title], Life with an Idiot, Die Fledermaus, Moses und Aron, Alice in Wonderland, Lohengrin, Le nozze di Figaro, Het sluwe vosje, Idomeneo and Tannhäuser. Fang Fang also sang at the Holland Festival in 1994 in the world premiere of Guo Wenjings Wolvendorp and that same year she won the public prize at the Cristina Deutekom Concours. Every day she considers it a challenge to provide DNO audiences with a beautiful experience.
