Chris Kondek first experimented with video art in the New York theatre scene in the mid-1980s. He worked with the Wooster Group for a long time in 1989 for the production Brace up!, an adaptation of Chekhov's Three Sisters, followed by The Emperor Jones and Fish Story. From the 1990s, his collaborations with Robert Wilson and Laurie Anderson began. He also has several productions to his name with director Pierre Audi, including Stockhausen's aus LICHT. After that they worked together on the world premiere of The Arab Apocalypse for the Festival d'Art Lirique d'Aix-en-Provence and in March 2022 on the world premiere of Eurydice - Die Liebenden, blind.
