Claus Guth

Claus Guth had his international breakthrough in 1999 with the world premiere of Luciano Berio's Cronaca del luogo (Salzburger Festspiele). Ever since, he has grwon into an internationally much sought-after opera director, and his work was already rewarded with the prestigious Faust prize. At Dutch National Opera, Guth directed Verdi's Un ballo in Maschera and Georg Friedrich Händel's Jeptha and Rodelinda. His prodution of Don Giovanni had its original premiere during the Salzburger Festspiele and was staged at the DNO for the first time in 2016. In 2021 he came back for a revival.
