Jenson Blight was born in Brisbane, Australia, where he trained at Premier Dance Academy from the age of three. In Brisbane, Jenson performed the role of Mamillius with The Royal Ballet in A Winter’s Tale, and danced with the Balletto del Teatro alla Scala in their production of Don Quixote. In 2021, he joined the Queensland Ballet Academy Upper School, where he trained for three years. Following his graduation, Jenson competed at the 2024 edition of the Prix De Lausanne, where he won the Astarte scholarship, allowing him to join the Junior Company of Dutch National Ballet. Before leaving Australia for the Netherlands, Jenson performed as a Young Artist Trainee in Bespoke, a Queensland Ballet programme in which innovative choreographers collaborate with dancers and artists to create new works.
