Donald Eastman

Donald Eastman has maintained a good working relationship with Tazewell Thompson for many years. He has not only designed the set for Blue (2020), but also for his Carmen at Virginia Opera and Mary T & Lizzy K at Arena Stage. Eastman made his professional opera debut at the Lisbon Opera with La Voix Humaine starring Evelyn Lear. Other companies include Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Glimmerglass Festival, New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Seattle Opera. Moreover, Eastman received multiple awards for his work, including a Village Voice OBIE Award for Sustained Excellence and is a grantee of the NEA/National Opera Institute.
