Grimm

GRIMM is about two boys who find themselves in a fantasy world, where they meet Red Riding Hood and the wolf, the seven dwarves, Rapunzel, Snow White, the witch, Cinderella and other fairytale characters in succession. They get mixed up in exciting adventures, in which all sorts of elements from well-known fairytales are jumbled up in a lively parade of fairytale characters. As in all fairytales, a big role is played by love and jealousy, friendship, tyranny, intrigues and the battle between good and evil.

Creation

In a completely new adaptation, Marco Gerris and Ernst Meisner are making a compilation of the best Grimm stories, interwoven with magic and contemporary elements. Following the huge success of Narnia, GRIMM is once again an exciting collaboration between the Junior Company and ISH Dance Collective. Ballet dancers and hiphoppers dance together in a new, individual dance style, in which they challenge and surprise one another.

GRIMM is a timeless story that is told through modern means. The music has been especially commissioned from the British composer and sound artist Scanner (Robin Rimbaud). Aitor Biedma is creating ingenious film projections that clarify the many scene changes in the story, and the sets are by designer and interior architect René van der Leest (Studio Ruim). And the atmospheric lighting by Mike den Ottolander makes GRIMMa very cinematic performance indeed.
