Anne Douqué
Anne Douqué has been the Business Manager of Dutch National Ballet, part of Dutch National Opera & Ballet, since November 2024. Her career within the organization began in 2021, initially as a project manager and later as a policy secretary.
After completing her studies at the University of Amsterdam in 1999, Anne Douqué organized a conference on promoting diversity and inclusion in collaboration with the British Council, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture. During this period, she also supported the producer of an international opera production by Japanese composer Maki Ishii. These experiences affirmed that the arts world was her true calling. With a strong focus on content and a keen eye for business and organizational frameworks, she has held various leadership positions since then. She worked for four years at the British Council and co-founded the Artery Foundation with artist and director Henk Schut. Between 2000 and 2016, they realized various music theatre productions and installations, often on location and co-produced with partners such as the NDSM wharf, the Van Gogh Museum, Musikfest Bremen, Festival Oude Muziek, and Dutch National Touring Opera. She was the Business Manager of the Netherlands Chamber Choir for six years and subsequently worked as Business Director at Building Conversation/Third Space, alongside Artistic Director Lotte van den Berg.
Additionally, Anne Douqué served on the internationalization committee of the Performing Arts Fund NL from 2006 to 2010 and was a committee member and advisor on structural subsidies for Music and Music Theater for the 2017–2020 Arts Plan period at the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts from 2015 to 2017.
