Edu Rojas
Countertenor Edu Rojas, is an active soloist on opera stages in Europe and the artistic director of the Q Ensemble Berlin since 2019. Rojas' most recent performances include L'Invisible by Aribert Reimann at Deutsche Oper Berlin, as Belize in the Berlin premiere of Eötvös' critically acclaimed Angels in America and in Thuille's Fridolin at the Berliner Philharmonie. Graduating from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with a Bachelor in Early Music singing under Xenia Meijer, Edu moved to Berlin to study a Master in Opera at the University of Arts, with Deborah York. On stage, Rojas was Nerone in L'incoronazione di Poppea, Sorceress in Dido & Aeneas, Nerillo in Cavalli's L'Ormindo, sang roles in King Arthur and The Fairy Queen by Purcell and was Dardano in Amadigi di Gaula by Handel. Projects with the Q Ensemble Berlin include an audiovisual recording of the cantata Cessate, omai cessate! by Vivaldi and the concert De Profundis, a programme of arias by Handel and Vivaldi in the Kölner Philharmonie.
