This year, Dutch National Ballet celebrates its 60th anniversary. On this page you can find an overview of all productions by Dutch National Ballet for the upcoming season 2021/2022. From now on you can order tickets for all performances from Sep to Dec. The productions from January to June go on sale on 2 November from 12.00 noon.

Programme completely devoted to choreographer and designer Toer van Schayk, in honour of his 85th birthday. Apart from his award-winning masterpiece 7th Symphony to Beethoven’s Seventh, also a special world premiere, inspired by Vondel’s most beautiful tragedy: Lucifer.

Magical fairy tale for the whole family
The Christmas production of Dutch National Ballet. December would not be complete without this festive Dutch fairy tale. With its skating scenes on the Amsterdam canals and a living room transformed into a snowy forest the ballet has already bewitched more than 325,000 children and adults.

Grand new production of a famous ballet classic
For the first time in the Netherlands: Marius Petipa’s legendary ballet Raymonda, a completely new version by Associate Artistic director Rachel Beaujean. Her interpretation of this large-scale production, which presents the classical ballet technique in its most pure and demanding form, adds a surprising new change to the story. Jérôme Kaplan, known for his beautiful designs among which those for Don Quichot, will design the sets and costumes.

New creations by leading choreographers
Four world premieres in one programme. Starting with a new creation by international top choreographer David Dawson. In world premieres by Juanjo Arques and Wubkje Kuindersma, two young makers who have already proved their great talent, and a new work by rising star Sedrig Verwoert. Verwoert’s unique individual signature was rewarded with a Swan nomination for Most Impressive Dance Production 2019/2020.

Participation project
Colourful vision on the future of dance
On the occasion of its 60th anniversary Dutch National Ballet is organising a festive, large-scale project for the coming season: In the Future. Amateur groups practicing different forms of dance, of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds, have been working together for months to create one dazzling performance in Dutch National Opera & Ballet, based on Hans van Manen’s ballet of the same name.

A festival celebrating the 90th birthday of master choreographer Hans van Manen with a cross-section of his extensive oeuvre. Performed by Dutch National Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater 1 and 2, Introdans and a selection of leading foreign ballet companies, including the Mariinski Ballet from St. Petersburg, Wiener Staatsballett and Ballet am Rhein Düsseldorf Duisburg.

Festive conclusion of the anniversary season
The anniversary season concludes with a ‘spectacle coupe’, a festive gala performance for which not only the complete Dutch National Ballet and Junior Company but also the pupils and students from the Dutch National Ballet Academy are working together. This surprise programme includes a selection of highlights from the company’s versatile repertoire.
