British James Blake is an award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and electronic music producer. Blake produces music across various genres, including electronic, R&B, post-dubstep, pop, and experimental. His first record was released in 2009, becoming a BBC Radio 1 favourite. A year later, he released three successful EPs – his debut EP The Bells Sketch, followed by CMYK and Klavierwerke – and in 2011, he was critically acclaimed for his debut album James Blake. In 2013, Blake won the Mercury Prize for his album Overgrown, which also gained him international recognition. Both his third and fourth albums – The Colour in Anything and Assume Form – were also met with widespread praise. Assume Form earned him a twenty-first place on the US Billboard 200.

James Blake has collaborated with a large number of famous artists, including Bon Iver, Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, Travis Scott, and Andre 3000. In addition to the Mercury Prize, he won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2014. In total, he has been nominated for a Grammy Award five times and for a Brit Award three times – in 2011, 2012, and 2014.
