Jan Philipp Gloger
German director Jan Philipp Gloger is active in theatre and opera. He created theatre productions for, among others, the Residenztheater in Munich, the Deutsches Theater and the Schaubühne in Berlin, the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the State Theatres in Wiesbaden, Karlsruhe and Mainz. Since 2010, he has also directed various operas at prestigious houses, including Opernhaus Zurich, Semperoper Dresden, Oper Frankfurt, the Bayreuther Festspiele, The Royal Opera in London and Volksoper Wien. He made his debut with Dutch National Opera in 2015 with Der Rosenkavalier, followed in 2017 by a double bill of Zemlinsky’s Eine florentinische Tragödie and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. Since the 2018-2019 season, Gloger has served as theatre director of the Staatstheater Nürnberg.
