Jean-Michel Criqui
Stage director
Jean-Michel Criqui began his career as a stage manager for Mozart's Da Ponte trilogy at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. This was followed by an eight-month collaboration with Giorgio Strehler on Kurt Weill's Die Dreigroschenoper at the Théâtre du Châtelet. Eventually, he would work as a freelancer with directors such as Pierre Audi, Robert Wilson and Robert Carsen. Most recently, he worked on Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia with Mariame Clément, Verdi's Don Carlo at the Aalto-Theater Essen and Bellini's Norma at Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona. September 2022 he did the revival direction for Carsens Carmen at DNO.
