Jordan de Souza
Canadian conductor Jordan de Souza is hailed as the rising star of his generation. His close collaboration with director Barry Kosky during his term as First Kapellmeister of the Komische Oper Berlin (2017-2020) has earned him international acclaim. They worked together on four acclaimed productions: Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisandre, Puccini's La bohème, Weinberger’s Frühlingsstürme, and Bernstein's Candide. He has subsequently conducted at the Bayrische Staatsoper München, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Garsington Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and made his debut at the 2022 Glyndebourne Opera Festival conducting a new production of Puccini's La bohème. He has also worked with orchestras such as the Orchestre symphonique et lyrique de Nancy, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestre Métropolitain. He made his debut with Dutch National Opera with the production of Carmen in September 2022.
