José Carlos Blanco
José Carlos Blanco received his dance training at the Centro de Danza Víctor Ullate. At the age of sixteen, he joined the Víctor Ullate Ballet, where he was promoted to the position of principal dancer at the age of twenty. In 2001, he made the transition to the Compañia Nacional de Danza in Madrid under the direction of Nacho Duato. Here, he collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Jacopo Godani, and Nacho Duato. Blanco later took on the role of a repetiteur for the company's junior ensemble and eventually for the main company, which was then under the leadership of José Carlos Martínez.
Currently, Blanco serves as the artistic coordinator of the 'Somos Arte' gala in Valencia and is actively involved as an international freelance dance instructor. In addition, since 2017, he has been working as an assistant to Juanjo Arqués and serves as a rehearsal assistant to Nacho Duato. Since 2022, Blanco has also been staging works by William Forsythe.
