Martin Gebhardt
Martin Gebhardt started his career as a lighting designer with the Hamburg Ballet and worked closely with Heinz Spoerli, former artistic director of Ballett Zürich, from 2002 to 2012. Ballet productions by both companies took him to renowned theatres in Europe, Asia and North America. They also earned him collaborations with several famous choreographers and directors, such as Patrice Bart, Alexei Ratmansky, Wayne McGregor, Marco Goecke, Damiano Michieletto and Benoit Favre. Since the 2012/13 season, Gebhardt has been head of lighting at the Opernhaus Zürich and has several collaborations with Christian Spuck to his name. They worked, amongst others, on Anna Karenina, Woyzeck, Leonce und Lena and very recently on the ballet Monteverdi.
