Canadian conductor Nathan Brock graduated from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Zürich in 2008 and began his professional career in 2009 as an assistant conductor with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to resident conductor, a role in which he conducted hundreds of concerts. From 2015, Brock served as Kapellmeister (orchestra leader) at the Staatsoper Hamburg for four seasons. Here, he also began his collaboration with choreographer John Neumeier and his Hamburg Ballet, conducting new ballets such as Eleonora Duse and Anna Karenina, as well as revivals of Giselle, Chopin Dances, Don Quixote, Kameliendame, and Liliom.

In addition, Brock has maintained a close association with The National Ballet of Canada for many years. He regularly conducts performances there, including Alexei Ratmansky’s Romeo and Juliet and Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. As a guest conductor, he has performed with various orchestras in Canada and Europe and with companies such as the Komische Oper Berlin, the ensembles at Aalto-Theater, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Japan National Ballet, and the Norwegian National Ballet. In 2023, Brock made his debut with Dutch Ballet Orchestra during the tour of Giselle.
