Corona update: management decides to continue paying freelancers
The management of National Opera & Ballet (NO&B) recently decided to continue paying freelancers, with a maximum monthly amount, until the end of this season (end of June).
The board stands for fair treatment of everyone who works for us, within the possibilities offered by Dutch National Opera & Ballet during this time of crisis. Government assistance to freelancers is limited. Many of them have been working for us for years. We appreciate their loyalty and now we want to show our solidarity. We therefore feel responsible to do this, during this difficult time.
The same rule applies to our (international) artists.
The board makes this arrangement for freelancers (national and international) after coordination with the Supervisory Board, subsidizers and the Works Council of NO&B.
The scheme concerns freelancers who work as individual employees on an assignment contract with NO&B and with whom agreements have already been made for this current season. Careful elaboration of the scheme requires the necessary organization and application of customization, which NO&B is currently working on.
