Farewell to principal dancer Jakob Feyferlik
Last Sunday, during the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts, principal dancer Jakob Feyferlik danced his last performance as a member of Dutch National Ballet. Starting next season, he will continue his dance career with the Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich.
Jakob Feyferlik received his dance training at the Neues Wiener Konservatorium (Vienna Conservatory of Music). He joined the Wiener Staatsballett in 2013 and was promoted there in 2016 – quite exceptionally – from the corps de ballet directly to the rank of soloist. His promotion to principal dancer followed in February 2019, after a performance of Rudolf Nureyev's Swan Lake.
In 2019, he attended Dutch National Ballet's annual season-opening gala as a guest soloist, performing Hans van Manen's iconic duet Trois gnossiennes. Later that year he performed the role of the Prince in Dutch National Ballet’s The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, and in 2020 he joined the company as a principal dancer.
We would like to thank Jakob for his wonderful performances and wish him every success in his future career.
