Labs: From Shadows

OFF 2024 will mark the second occasion on which students of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague will team up with a sonology-student composer from the Royal Conservatoire to produce a musical installation. This installation, which has been dubbed From Shadows, combines opera and film into a surreal journey through the different stages of sleep and wakefulness. In a musical landscape shaped by a series of lullabies, symbolic characters engage in play in a dream-like space that will conjure up personal and collective memories. Visitors will be invited to move through the space to experience the installation from different perspectives. Because of the inventive interplay between light and dark, the shadow of the person entering the space becomes part of the visual show.

• The installation always begins at the full and half hour and lasts approximately 20 minutes

This installation is free to visit several times an hour at the specified times, you do not need a reservation or ticket.
