Alexander Vinogradov
Alexander Vinogradov is a regular guest at the leading opera houses in the world. He has collaborated with several eminent conductors, such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Gustavo Dudamel, Valery Gergiev, Sir Antonio Pappano and Fabio Luisi. A prominent role on Vinogradov’s repertoire is that of Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen, which he has sung at the Metropolitan Opera, The Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Arena di Verona, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Opernhaus Zürich, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. Moreover, his repertoire includes the roles of Raimondo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Sarastro in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Méphistophélès in Gounods Faust and Colline in Puccini’s La bohème. Vinogradov has sung in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mariss Jansons. Earlier this season he made an unexpected house debut with Dutch National Opera, stepping in for a sick colleague as Escamillo in Bizet's Carmen.
