Aleksei Kulagin
Aleksei Kulagin graduated in singing from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. He has already performed several notable bass roles, including King René and Bertrand in Iolanta, Sobakin in The Tsar’s Bride, Gremin in Eugene Onegin, Simone in Gianni Schicchi, Masetto in Don Giovanni and Angelotti in Tosca. Kulagin has performed at various opera houses, such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, the Hungarian State Opera and the Russian Bolshoi Theatre, where he participated in the Young Artist Programme in 2019. In 2022, he was part of the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival and this year he made his debut at the Mariinsky Theater as Ruslan in Ruslan and Ludmila and in The Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre as Banquo in Macbeth. Last December, Kulagin debuted at Dutch National Opera as Timur in Turandot. May 2023 we will see him as Giorgio Talbot in Maria Stuarda.
