Mezzo-soprano

American mezzo-soprano Angela Brower is praised for her lush, round yet youthfully crisp sound. Her repertoire includes such roles as Der Komponist in Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Nicklausse/La Muse in Offenbach's Les contes d'Hoffmann and Lišák (Fox) in Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen. She regularly performs at houses such as The Metropolitan Opera in New York, Staatsoper Hamburg, Bayerische Staatsoper München, Staatsoper Berlin and the Gran Teatre del Liceu. With Dutch National Opera, she previously sang the role of Dorabella in Mozart's Così fan tutte, under the baton of Ivor Bolton and that of Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier conducted by Lorenzo Viotti.
