Bart Driessen

Dutch bass Bart Driessen studied singing at the Utrechts Conservatorium and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, after which he joined the International Opera Studio in Amsterdam. He sang under conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Thomas Hengelbrock, Edo de Waart, Ton Koopman, Arthur Fagen and Jac van Steen. He was associated with the opera houses of Coburg and Bremen and was part of the soloist ensemble of Oper Dortmund from 2003 to 2011. At Dutch National Opera, he previously sang in L'Orfeo (1996 and 1997), Madama Butterfly (2002 and 2003) and Fidelio (2003).
