Freddie de Tommaso
The young British tenor Freddie de Tommaso rose to prominence when he important prizes at the 2018 Viñas International Singing Competition. Since then, he has performed at many international opera houses, including the Bayerische Staatsoper, The Royal Opera in London and the Wiener Staatsoper. Recently he made several role debuts, such as Maurizio in Francesco Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur at Teatro alla Scala, Don Jose in Bizet's Carmen at the Wiener Staatsoper and Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini's Tosca at The Royal Opera. De Tommaso also sings diverse concert repertoire, including Mendelssohn's Elijah, Puccini's Messa di Gloria and Verdi's Messa da Requiem. He is also the first tenor to sign exclusively with Decca Classics, since Jonas Kaufmann. At Dutch National Opera he previously sang the role of Ismaele in Verdi's Nabucco.
