Germán Olvera
Mexican baritone Germán Olvera made his opera debut with the Mexican National Opera in 2013 as Escamillo in Carmen. Other operatic roles include Eisenhardt (Die Soldaten), Girolamo (Bomarzo), Malatesta (Don Pasquale) and Silvio (Pagliacci) for companies including Teatro Real, Nederlandse Reisopera, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Ópera de Oviedo and Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia. In 2019 he joined the ensemble of the Staatsoper Hannover, where he has performed Don Giovanni, Escamillo (Carmen), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Marcello (La bohème) and Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro). The latter role was also Olvera’s debut at the Glyndebourne Festival. In 2022, Olvera made his debut at Dutch National Opera with Turandot.
