The Puerto Rican tenor Ian Matthew Castro received his master's degree from The Juilliard School in New York. He has been a member of Dutch National Opera Studio since the 2021-2022, for which he receives a scholarship from the New York Opera Foundation. During this season, he already sang the roles of Gastone de Letorières in Verdi’s La traviata and Signor Hervey in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena. He also performs regularly in the various concerts given by members of the Dutch National Opera Studio. In the fall of 2022 he could be seen as Le Remendado in Carmen.
