The Spanish tenor Ismael Jordi studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with Alfredo Kraus. Since then, he appeared at various international opera houses, including Staatsoper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Real in Madrid, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, the Royal Opera House, Opernhaus Zurich and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. His repertoire includes the roles of Alfredo in La traviata, Il Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto, Des Grieux in Manon and the title roles in Roberto Devereux, Werther and Faust. At Dutch National Opera, Jordi previously performed the role of Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, the title role in Roméo et Juliette, and in Jetske Mijnssens Tudor-trilogy the roles of Lord Riccardo Percy in Anna Bolena and Leicester in Maria Stuarda.

  • April-May 2024 Ismael Jordi will return for the title role of the third and final part of the Tudor trilogy, Roberto Devereux.
