Jessica Stakenburg
Mezzo-soprano Jessica Stakenburg studied at the Theaterschool in Rotterdam and the Conservatory of Tilburg. Afterwards, she continued her studies at the Opera Academy in Ghent. As a freelance singer, she worked with the Nederlands Kamerkoor and the Choir of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. There she sang in productions of Don Carlos, Rusalka, Der Schmied von Gent and C(H)ŒURS and performed the role of one of the six Mädchen in Van Hove's staging of Mahagonny. Her repertoire includes roles such as Dritte Dame and Dritter Knabe in Die Zauberflöte, Uberto in La serva padrona and Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti. As a soloist, she has previously appeared in several Opera Forward Festival talent productions at Dutch National Opera.
Jessica Stakenburg sings the role of one of the six Mädchen in Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny, which will be performed at Dutch National Opera from 6 September to 27 September 2023.
