Joe Chalmers (Winchester, United Kingdom) discovered his passion for singing at the Winchester Cathedral choir school. He continued to sing with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain before beginning his studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.
Joe has received several awards and scholarships, including The Elizabeth Sweeting Award, the Sybil Tutton Opera Award, The Dow Clewer Foundation Scholarship, and the Drake Calleja Trust Scholarship. This season he will appear as Count Ceprano in the opening title Rigoletto.
Joe Chalmers sings the role of Il Conte di Ceprano in Rigoletto, running from 2 to 29 September 2024 at Dutch National Opera.
