Josef Wagner

The Austrian baritone Josef Wagner studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Since his debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2006 he has been a frequent guest at many internationally renowned opera houses, such as Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opernhaus Zürich, Theater an der Wien, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Finnish National Opera, and Staatsoper Stuttgart. His repertoire includes roles such as the title roles in Eugene Onegin and The Flying Dutchman, Jochanaan in Salome, the Ruler in Das Wunder der Heliane and the Count in Capriccio. He will make his debut at Dutch National Opera as the Spielmann in Königskinder.
